How is your heart today?

I’m writing to you from my little studio sanctuary, with fresh sea air still clinging to my lungs, and the taste of salt lingering on my lips after a sun-drenched, wind-whipped day at the coast. The kind of day where sand weaves itself into every fold and seam, where the wild elements get inside you, in the best possible way, leaving you windswept, soul-washed, and happily tired on the road home.

Funny — I had planned something entirely different. A colour filled day in the city, at the Royal Academy of Arts. But when I woke, anxiety was already there, buzzing around my chest. And I just knew. The city wasn’t the medicine I needed.

I needed the ocean.

So I listened. I followed the pull.

And it worked.

The wild, generous abundance of negative ions in the sea air, the ones that leap off the crashing waves, felt like they were stitching my nervous system back together. The sound of the tide, constant and alive, rolling pebbles back and forth like a lullaby written by the Earth herself. The wind tangled my hair and shook something loose inside me. I felt part of it all…held, softened, re-calibrated.

There’s something ancient in the way the sea heals. No performance. No expectation. Just the deep, resonant rhythm of water meeting land again and again. I felt the edges of myself blur a little, in a good way, like I was being returned to something original. Something true.

Now, back in my studio, I carry that feeling. My skin still tingles from sun and salt. My breath is slower. My heart is less tangled. There is space again.

I wonder — what is your medicine lately? What do you turn toward when the weight gets too heavy?
